Corey Taylor Collaborates With Dave Grohl

Taylor recently tweeted his excitement about it, admitting, “HUGE checks off the Bucket List today – did a song with Dave Grohl and Butch Vig. Do the words ‘holy sh–’ say enough about it?!?”  Although no word yet as to what the song was for, our best guess is that it’s part of a side project that Grohl has been reportedly working on. According to NME.com, the project is being referred to only as ‘TBA’ for now.

Rise Against Post New Webisode for Bob Dylan Cover

Rise Against have premiered an in-depth behind-the-scenes video on about the making of their Bob Dylan cover, "The Ballad Of Hollis Brown." The track appears on the recent Amnesty International compilation, 'Chimes Of Freedom', which consists of seventy-six Dylan covers to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the human rights organization. "It was a real fun song for us to put together," front man Tim McIlrath tells Rolling Stone. "It was out of the box for Rise Against."  The 'Chimes Of Freedom' compilation, also featuring Cage The Elephant, Queens Of The Stone Age, Silversun Pickups and more.

Anthony Green/Chino Moreno Collaboration Streaming Online

While many metal fans might only know who Circa Survive frontman Anthony Green is in passing, just about everyone knows who Chino Moreno is. The Deftones frontman collaborated with Green for a bonus track on his second solo album, Beautiful Things. “Right Outside” will only be a bonus track on the digital release of the album, which will be out this coming Tuesday (1/17) on Photo Finish records, but it’s streaming online at RollingStone.com.

Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi Diagnosed With Cancer

Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has been diagnosed with cancer, and is set to undergo treatment lymphoma. The guitarist has been diagnosed with the early stages of the disease, forcing Black Sabbath to move to London from LA in order to hammer out the new Black Sabbath album.  In a statement on the Black Sabbath website, fellow band members urged Black Sabbath fans to send “positive vibes”. Former Black Sabbath frontman Ronnie James Dio died at the tender age of 67  in 2011.  Black Sabbath have sold about 70m records worldwide and will be working on their first new album in 33 years, due for release in late 2012.

In a statement on Killswitch Engage’s website, the band’s now-former vocalist Howard Jones has explained why he left the band. His answer is humble, and it shows a degree of maturity from both the band and Jones. Saliva Announce New Singer

Saliva just revealed that their new frontman will be former Burn Season drummer Bobby Amaru.  This is huge news since most of us didn't even know the group had parted ways with founding vocalist Josey Scott. In an interview with Texas radio station KFMX, Saliva guitarist Wayne Swinny said that Scott had left the radio-rockers earlier this year so he could pursue a career as a solo Christian artist.
